You will overnight in Moose Factory at the Cree Village Ecolodge, the most environmentally advanced accommodations
facility in Canada. It features state-of-the-art energy efficiency features such as triple glazed low-e windows,
and high-efficiency boilers that provide hot water heat throughout the lodge with individual room controls. The system
is fitted for future solar, wind or distributed energy resources. Wall treatments are either natural wood or special
low emission paints, floor coverings are hardwood, ceramic tile or organic wool carpeting. Furniture throughout is
natural wood and fibers, with details such as birch wood blinds on windows and organic wool bedspreads. Environmental
amenities including natural wool carpeting, all organic mattresses, pillows and sheets and organic hand-soaps and
shampoos detail every room.

Your journey begins in Cochrane for an overnight stay at the newly renovated historic Station Inn, 1906. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the dining facility and have a restful evening before you ride the rail. All aboard the Polar Bear Express rail service to Moosonee. Groups will depart Cochrane at 8:30am and travel on the Polar Bear express into the far north to Moosonee and arrive at 12:50pm. You will be met by your guide at the train station. Travel to Moose Factory Island by water taxi in a freighter canoe. An orientation of the adventure will be provided by your guide along with a guided tour of Ontario's oldest english speaking settlement. Visit historic sites such as the St. Thomas Anglican church (oldest wooden church in Canada) Hudson Bay company staff house, centennial park museum, Moose Cree indian reservation and the Cree Cultural Interpretive Center. At the Cree interpretive center take a personal glimpse into the Cree way of life that has been through many changes in the past 200 years. Learn from a nation that has overcome hardships and has progressed so that future generations can be proud of their heritage. Come and be part of the Cree history and learn the ways of the Mushkegowuk. Once you have had a taste of our culture from a local perspective, have a taste of the local fare in the community. You will have an opportunity to assist in the preparation of a traditional meal. This is an unforgettable, hands-on experience. Overnight at the Cree Village Eco-lodge.
Breakfast will be ready and waiting for you. You will be taken by your guide to the mouth of the mighty Moose River, utilizing a traditional mode of transportation to view James Bay, Shipsands bird sanctuary and its wildlife. You may also have the opportunity to observe Beluga Whales coming in the river to feed. Along your boat ride you will travel to James Bay known as the world's biggest concentration of different species of birds. For lunch you will stop along the way to have a shorelunch consisting of freshly caught fish. You will marvel in the beauty of the untouched land and the vast area of James Bay. Return to the community for dinner. Overnight at the Cree Village Eco-Lodge for a second night.
After a hearty breakfast you will transported to Moosonee to catch your scheduled air service plane to Peawanuck. You will be travelling to Polar Bear provincial park that covers an area of 24,000 sq. miles and is virtually undisturbed. Not only are there polar bears and caribou, there are also 292 documented bird species and various mamals. You'll have a good chance of seeing 100 bird species without much effort.
Upon your arrival in Peawanuck, you'll be met at the airport & transferred to a picnic area for some traditional snacks and an orientation of your visit. You will tour the community and visit a traditional sod house. You will also meet with the local people to give you a chance to view/purchase local handicrafts. Your real adventure begins as you travel by boat down river to your tipi compound on the shores of Hudson Bay where you will have the chance to view wildlife and hope to see whales, seals, polar bears and the mystical northern lights. Returning back to camp, and after the evening meal, we will sit around the campfire and share stories.
Early morning after your breakfast that was prepared by your guide, a boat excursion will commence to view more wildlife. Hike along the tundra and explore on your own viewing many species of birds and viewing the vibrant colours of the flora and fauna on the Coast of Hudson Bay. Overnight on the coast for the evening…
Early morning after breakfast you will travel back to remote cree community of Peawanuck by boat to catch our departure on Air Creebec. Travel to Moosonee to catch your train excursion on Polar Bear express.
