Travel the wilderness expanse known as Quetico with your Cree guide. Quetico Provincial Park has been long regarded as the top
canoeing destination in Canada, and remains a paddler’s paradise. Over 4,800 square kilometers in area, the park is a myriad of
lakes, streams and rivers interconnected by short walking trails. Wildlife is plentiful and the scenery rivals any wilderness
location in the world.
Wake to the sound of the calling loon as it drifts slowly past your camp. Listen to the wind as it moves through the branches
overhead. Watch the sun as it sets in a golden evening after a day of paddling and portaging. Enjoy a great meal prepared by
your guide, share your days experiences with your traveling companions revel in the sound of your laughter.
Day 1 (Saturday) - Thunder Bay
Day 2 (Sunday) - Quetico Park; the trip begins
Day 3 to 5 - Travel wilderness of Quetico, camping each night in a different location
Day 6 - finish camping trip and travel to Thunder Bay to catch return flight.
Arrive in Thunder Bay. Meet with your guide and travel to park head quarters two hours west of Thunder Bay. You will overnight in Atikokan. After a delicious meal you will pack your personal gear with your camping gear.
After breakfast, you will travel to the entry point to begin your wilderness experience. Traveling together with your group you will be introduced to the wilderness from the perspective of your Cree Guide. He will help you to identify animal tracks, learn animal behavior, observe wildlife in their environment, help in the setup of the camp, listen to traditional stories and share your experience with the rest of your group. After paddling each day a new camp will be established as your group moves along on a predetermined route chosen for its remoteness, chance of wildlife encounters, historical encampments and for the scenic value. You will be transported back to Thunder Bay to Make arrangements for airplane departure to be in late afternoon. This will allow for a chance to clean up for the trip home and travel time to Thunder Bay. B,L
Participants should plan to arrive in Thunder Bay the afternoon of your arrival date listed for their particular trip. Your package price includes the following:

Quetico Park is approximately 2 hours drive from Thunder Bay on Highway 11/17. There are many other things to see and do
including the Park’s Interpretive Centre and the town of Atikokan. The highway section from Thunder Bay to Atikokan leads to
Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River. Kay-Nah-Chi-Wa-Nung Historical interpretive centre is a worthwhile stop less than 2 hours
west of Atikokan. Fly-drive and FIT itineraries can be arranged upon request.
Explore Northwestern Ontario along the Voyageur Route and travel west from Thunder Bay to the Manitoba border. Head south and
west and you’ll cover MOM’s WAY (Minnesota, Ontario, Manitoba).
