Upon your arrival in Peawanuck, you will be meet at the airport and transferred to your teepee accommodations situated at the banks and overlooking beautiful Winisk River. Dinner is provided with an orientation of the tour for the days ahead. After supper a tour of the community and the local church with its beautiful architecture and design. Onto a short hike to a traditional sod house. We also meet with some locals to give you a chance to view/purchase local handicrafts for a memento to take back home.
Your real adventure begins as you travel by boat down river to Hudson Bay. Searching for wildlife along the way you can see Beluga Whales, various hawk species, eagles, and wolves. This evening sit by an open campfire and hear the ancient stories and legends of the area. Set up camp along the shore of the Hudson Bay while you rest, the only noises being the call of the arctic loon or the howl of a distant wolf.
This day will be very special as you will be exploring on your own under the watchful eye of the guide. This will give you a chance to find out the true meaning of Hudson Bay’s (south shore) and true feeling of remoteness. Enjoy hiking the rugged tundra, untouched since massive glaciers traveled the land. Here is where forest growth gives way to hardy, vibrant arctic flora.
After breakfast, we will travel to a teepee camp. Moving to different locations to show different wildlife and scenery. This promotes other sightseeing and hiking in other areas. During the evening your host will show you how to make arrows and tamarack geese. Viewing spectacular Northern lights dancing across the late summer night over an open fire.
This is the day where we make a slow trip home along the shores of Hudson Bay. Along the way you may drop a bait for trophy class speckled trout and northern pike. Stopping for a shore lunch of freshly caught fish, authentically prepared by your guide.
After a hearty breakfast a boat ride approximately ten miles up the river to Lime Stone rapids where hiking of Limestone Island is with its 60 feet cliffs. Prepare a final shore lunch for the journey back to the community at one o’clock for your departure. You will leave with a lot of good memories of pristine wilderness which you never knew existed.

services, transportation by boat to Hudson Bay, all camping equipment and sleeping bags.

Although we cannot guarantee the sighting of a Polar bear due to the migratory habits of the bear every effort will
be made for opportunities to photograph polar bears.
